How does hypnotherapy work?

Hypnotherapy is actually incredibly simple. Think of your brain like a storage facility - in there is stored every single thing you have ever encountered, everything you’ve seen, heard, felt or smelled is all neatly stored in there. The brain stores this information to protect you for any perceived threatening or intimidating scenarios you may encounter. It dregs up all relevant information and presents it to the conscious mind. However, the brain doesn’t differentiate what it stores, it will store anything whether it’s true or false. Your body will then react to these files being resurfaced and present with unwanted habits or behaviours. In hypnotherapy we teach you how to enter into a relaxed state of mind, allowing us together to retrieve and replace any of those unwanted, negative files with positive ones. Behaviours are often immediately changed.

So as a client, once we have discovered what it is you’d like to change, you simply enjoy a lovely deep relaxation but you are always in control and present in the room.
